Kazan State Agrarian University is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in the Volga region and Russia. It has old historical traditions. In 1922 Kazan Institute of Agriculture and Forestry was founded on the basis of joining of the Forestry School of Kazan State University and agricultural department of Polytechnic Institute. In 1996 the Institute became Kazan State Agrarian Academy and in 2006 - Kazan State Agrarian University. At present there are 2 Faculties and 2 Institutes at the University:

- Forestry and Ecology Faculty
- Institute of Economics
